Donnie
Jerell Hockman, 44, of Martinsburg, went
to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 30, after a brave battle with
cancer. Donnie graduated in 1992 from the World wide College of Auctioneering School in Iowa and later earned his West Virginia Real Estate Broker License. Donnie achieved many professional accomplishments in the auction and real estate industries throughout his career, including prestigious designations from Certified Auctioneers Institute (CAI), Graduate Realtor Institute (GRI), and Accredited Auctioneer Real Estate (AARE). Donnie was a very proud member of the National Auctioneers Association and the past president of the West Virginia Auctioneers Association. He was recently honored by the WVAA by being inducted into the Hall of Fame. Every aspect of Donnie's life was guided by his faith. He was a dedicated member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church and his community. He conducted numerous charity auctions for St. Jude's Children's Hospital, St. Joseph Parish School, the March of Dimes, Make a Wish Foundation, Hospice, Have A Heart, and many other community organizations. Donnie was an avid big game hunter across the United States and an antiques collector. He enjoyed hunting trips with his brothers, children and friends, his most recent trips being to Nebraska, Maine, and Georgia this year. Donnie will be remembered most for his enthusiasm, charisma, drive and love of people. He will be missed by all whose lives he touched. Read "Area
